Michel is a Mexican/Canadian drummer, percussionist, guitarist and singer-songwriter.
Michel DeQuevedo moved to Canada from Mexico City in 2005, he has played and/or recorded with some of the best artists in Mexico and Canada, including Multi-Grammy award winner Natalia Lafourcade, Multi-Grammy award winner Julieta Venegas, Multi-Grammy award winner Molotov, Juno Award Winner Walk off the Earth, Juno Award Winner Richard Underhill, Juno Award Winner Quique Escamilla, The Eric St-Laurent Trio, Leroy Emmanuel, The LMT Connection, and many more.
Michel also played in some of Canada’s best venues; such as Massey Hall, Roy Thompson Hall, The Opera House, The Rex Hotel, Lula Lounge, The Reservoir Lounge, etc. and in some of the world’s best music venues including The House of Blues, Blue Note, JC Fandango, Whisky A-Go-Go, Hollywood Palladium, and many more.
Michel’s music has infectious rhythms, with beautiful melodies and vocals.
His latest project involves Afro-Latin Jazz/Pop arrangements, of his original music and of some old Latin and pop-rock songs. The fusion keeps the audiences engaged, appealing to people from diverse cultural backgrounds, bringing them to dance and sing together, as one.
